Do Google Ads Actually Work for Advisors? Only if You Build Them on the Right Foundation
Google Ads can absolutely work for lead generation in wealth management, but they're not a plug-and-play solution. Most ad campaigns fail not because of the ads themselves, but because of what's missing from the beginning.
Google Ads can absolutely work for lead generation in wealth management, but they’re not a plug-and-play solution. In fact, most ad campaigns fail not because of the ads themselves, but because of what’s missing from the beginning.
In this Summer Solutions episode of The 3 Minute Marketer, Rosemary Denney breaks down what needs to happen before you spend $$$ on paid search.
Here are the five building blocks of an effective Google Ads campaign:
-
**Know your ICP. **Your ideal client profile is the foundation. Think age, location, life stage, financial concerns, investment goals. If you don’t know exactly who you’re trying to reach, your ads won’t connect.
-
**Build trust with organic content. **The first thing prospects do after clicking an ad? Visit your website. If there’s nothing fresh, relevant or trustworthy there, you’ve already lost them. Your content should reflect the real problems your clients are trying to solve.
-
**Create purpose-built landing pages. **The landing page must match the language of the ad and speak directly to the user’s query. Clear, concise copy and one focused CTA make all the difference.
-
**Offer a lead magnet. **Give them a reason to share their contact info. That might be a checklist, guide or market update. Think about the things that your audience would find helpful.
-
**Get expert support. **Google Ads aren’t set-and-forget. They require constant testing, data analysis and refinement. Don’t go it alone.
Google Ads can work, but only when the strategy is built on understanding your ideal client, smart content and the right framework.
