01 — Situation
A globally recognized think tank with a brand that hadn't kept pace.
The UHNW Institute is a non-profit think tank dedicated to advancing the wealth management industry's ability to serve ultra-high-net-worth families. Through virtual and in-person events, research, white papers, podcasts, and published works, the Institute provides ongoing education and insight to a global membership of industry leaders.
As the Institute grew into a globally recognized leader, its brand fell out of sync with its reputation—feeling dated and failing to reflect the organization's sophistication or the families it serves. Visitors struggled to navigate the site and understand the Institute's full scope, creating a disconnect between its high-level operation and its ability to communicate value.
A globally recognized organization shouldn't have a brand that makes visitors question whether they're in the right place.
02 — Approach
Strategy before design
Before introducing a new visual direction, it was critical to understand what the existing brand was doing well—and where it fell short.
- Brand audit & competitive analysis
- Stakeholder interviews
- Audience positioning
- Messaging architecture
- Visual direction exploration
- Site structure & UX mapping
The previous brand established credibility through structured layouts, a conservative blue palette, and content-forward design. However, that formality limited its ability to connect. It felt more like a static repository than an active network, underrepresenting the energy and relationships that define the UHNW Institute.
We began with discovery: stakeholder conversations, audience research, and a close read of the Institute's positioning relative to the families and advisors it serves. That foundation shaped every creative decision that followed.
Before and after
Before—Credible, but static. Authoritative, but disconnected.
- Conservative palette that felt dated and uninviting
- Felt more like a static repository than an active network
- Navigation buried key programs and membership pathways
- Brand underrepresented the Institute's global stature and community energy
After—Editorial, dynamic, and built around the community it serves.
- Warmer palette with depth—authority without coldness
- Positioning shifted from static organization to active, dynamic network
- Clearer pathways to programs, resources, and membership
- Brand that informs and engages—worthy of the Institute's reputation
New Brand & Evolution
Institutional authority. Human energy.
The refreshed brand builds on the foundation of credibility while introducing a more modern, engaging, and human-centered experience. A refined color palette expands beyond traditional blues to incorporate warmer accent tones, adding depth and approachability without sacrificing trust.
Typography and layout systems were elevated to feel more editorial—closer to a premium publication—improving readability, hierarchy, and overall sophistication.
More importantly, the brand shifts the Institute's positioning from a static organization to a dynamic network. Messaging and design now emphasize connection, collaboration, and access—highlighting the people, ideas, and shared expertise at the core of the community.

Website redesign
The redesigned site reflects the Institute's role as a convening force within the UHNW space—balancing institutional authority with a stronger sense of energy, relevance, and belonging.
Strategic website goals:
- Improve access to tools and resources for advisors serving complex families
- Reinforce the Wealth 3.0 / Ten Domains framework throughout the experience
- Simplify navigation and elevate UX
- Increase visibility of key programs, including the Single Family Office Circle
- Convert qualified membership interest into action
- Guide users with clearer pathways to key resources
03 — Outcomes
A brand that informs and engages
- Repositioned the Institute from static repository to dynamic network
- Nearly doubled website traffic within 30 days of launch
- Increased membership page engagement time by 3.5x year-over-year
- Expanded organic search visibility through improved site structure and content hierarchy
- Created a consistent visual system applied across web, email, social, and events
- Delivered a brand that reflects the Institute's authority and human-centered mission
The Takeaway
The UHNW Institute had earned its reputation. We built a brand worthy of it—and the numbers proved the market agreed.
